'มาริษ เสงี่ยมพงษ์' อดีตรัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการต่างประเทศ ระบุผ่านสื่อโซเชียลเมื่อวันที่ 30 เมษายน 2569 ขอบคุณทางสำนักงานที่ปรึกษาฝ่ายการเกษตรสถานทูตสหรัฐฯ (USDA) และสถานเอกอัครราชทูตสหรัฐอเมริกา ที่ได้เชิญ พรรคเพื่อไทย เข้าร่วมงานเลี้ยงรับรองที่จัดขึ้น ณ โรงแรมแมดาริน โอเรียลเตล ซึ่งเป็นโอกาสสำคัญในการต้อนรับคณะผู้แทนระดับสูงจากมลรัฐ Kansas, California, South Dakota และ Tennessee พร้อมทั้งผู้นำจากภาคอุตสาหกรรมการเกษตรของสหรัฐฯ ที่เดินทางมาเพื่อมองหาโอกาส “ต่อยอดความร่วมมือ” กับประเทศไทย

ในช่วง Networking Reception ผมได้มีโอกาสหารือในประเด็นครอบคลุมทุกมิติของห่วงโซ่การเกษตร ตั้งแต่ “ต้นน้ำ” งานวิจัยและพัฒนา สู่ “กลางน้ำ” เทคโนโลยีการแปรรูป ไปจนถึง “ปลายน้ำ” การตลาดและการขยายเครือข่ายธุรกิจ เพื่อเพิ่มมูลค่าการค้าและสร้างความแข็งแกร่งร่วมกัน

ผมยังได้แลกเปลี่ยนมุมมองกับคณะผู้แทนสหรัฐฯ เพื่อผลักดันความร่วมมือเชิงยุทธศาสตร์ โดยเน้นการพัฒนา “ระบบนิเวศเกษตรกรรม” ที่ยั่งยืน ที่ประกอบด้วย การบริหารจัดการน้ำ เกษตรรักษ์สิ่งแวดล้อม ลดก๊าซเรือนกระจก แหล่งเงินทุนสีเขียว (Green Finance) พลังงานทางเลือก (Green Transition) ระบบขนส่งที่เป็นมิตรต่อสิ่งแวดล้อม

อีกหนึ่งข้อเสนอสำคัญ คือการขยายความร่วมมือให้กว้างขวางมากยิ่งขึ้น โดยดึงเอาประเทศที่มีศักยภาพด้านการเกษตร ทั้งในเรื่องเทคโนโลยี และองค์ความรู้แบบยั่งยืน (best practices) ได้แก่ ไทย–สหรัฐฯ–ออสเตรเลีย สร้างความเป็นหุ้นส่วนทางยุทธศาสตร์ระหว่างกัน ยกระดับการพัฒนาระบบการเกษตรในภูมิภาคเอเชีย–แปซิฟิก และแสดงบทบาทนำไปสู่เครือข่ายความมั่นคงทางอาหารในแบบยั่งยืนในอนาคต

นี่ไม่ใช่แค่ความร่วมมือระหว่างประเทศ แต่คือก้าวสำคัญของการสร้าง “อนาคตการเกษตรที่ยั่งยืน” เพื่อโลกและคนรุ่นต่อไป

นอกจากนี้ ผมยังได้มีโอกาสหารืออย่างเป็นกันเองกับ ดร.พจน์ อร่ามวัฒนานนท์ ประธานกรรมการสภาหอการค้าไทยแห่งประเทศไทย และทีมที่ปรึกษา พร้อมกับคณะทำงานของสภาฯ ในเรื่องการส่งเสริมบทบาทความร่วมมือของภาคเอกชนของไทย ในการพัฒนาโครงสร้างธุรกิจและอุตสาหกรรมการเกษตรอย่างรอบด้าน เพื่องสร้างความเจริญอย่างยั่งยืน และการพัฒนาคุณภาพชีวิต การอยู่ดีกินดีของประชาชนรากหญ้า อีกด้วย

Unlocking a New Era of Thai–U.S. Agricultural Partnership for a Sustainable Future

A sincere thank you to the USDA Agricultural Affairs Office and the U.S. Embassy for the kind invitation to an exclusive reception at the Mandarin Oriental. This remarkable occasion brought together high-level delegates from Kansas, California, South Dakota, and Tennessee, alongside leaders from the U.S. agricultural industry, exploring new opportunities to elevate collaboration with Thailand.

During the networking session, I had the opportunity to engage in meaningful discussions across the entire agricultural value chain from upstream R&D and innovation, through midstream processing technologies, to downstream marketing and business expansion; all aimed at enhancing trade value and building shared strength.

We also exchanged strategic perspectives on advancing a sustainable agricultural ecosystem, focusing on water management, eco-friendly farming, greenhouse gas reduction, green finance, renewable energy transitions, and sustainable logistics.

One key proposal is to broaden this collaboration into a trilateral partnership i.e. Thailand, the United States, and Australia to share technology, innovation, and sustainable best practices. Together, we aim to elevate agricultural systems across the Asia-Pacific region and move toward a resilient and sustainable food security network for the future.

This is more than international cooperation—it’s a pivotal step toward shaping a sustainable agricultural future for our planet and generations to come. Additionally, I had the pleasure of an informal discussion with Dr. Poj Aramwattanon, Chairman of the Thai Chamber of Commerce, along with his advisory team. We explored how Thailand’s private sector can play a stronger role in advancing agricultural business structures and industry development, driving sustainable growth while improving livelihoods and well-being at the grassroots level.
